Febreze FABRIC™ vs. State Fabric & Textile Refresher®
Febreze FABRIC™ vs. State Fabric & Textile Refresher®
Picture this: you run a veterinary office, and the waiting room has noticeable odors of urine and animal dander. Visitors wrinkle their noses when they enter the lobby, and your staff complains about working in these conditions. You’ve tried aerosol and plug-in air fresheners to no avail; what can you do?
Does your lobby have upholstery, furniture, or carpets? If so, your solution may very well be a fabric refresher.
At State Chemical, we manufacture and distribute chemical solutions for various problems, and one of these solutions is State Fabric and Textile Refresher®. We know that it can be difficult to get to the root of a malodor, so it’s our goal to give honest information on how to resolve your specific problem.
This article will compare State Fabric and Textile Refresher® to Febreze FABRIC™. After reading, you’ll have an idea of how each of these products could work in your facility, and you’ll be prepared to choose the best fabric refresher for you.
What is Febreze FABRIC™?
Febreze FABRIC™ is a ready-to-use fabric refresher spray for furniture and fabrics throughout the home that may be holding onto odors. This can include hard-to-wash fabrics like sofas, drapes, carpets, and other upholstery.
For example, if you have an old couch at home, it may start to hold onto body odors after a while. You could spray Febreze FABRIC™ onto the couch weekly, and it would fight these malodors to make the area fresher-smelling and more comfortable.
What is State Fabric and Textile Refresher®?
On the other hand, State Fabric and Textile Refresher® is a ready-to-use fabric refresher spray manufactured and distributed by State Chemical. It can be used on furniture and fabrics in institutional and industrial settings that may be holding onto odors. As with Febreze FABRIC™, this can include sofas, drapes, carpets, and other upholstery.
For example, if you run a hotel that tends to have smoke odors in the rooms, you could spray State Fabric and Textile Refresher® on the drapes and bedding before guests check in. This way, the room will smell fresh and clean throughout their stay.
State Fabric and Textile Refresher® is Industrial-Strength, Febreze FABRIC™ is for Household Use
The main distinction between these two options is their intended usage. Febreze FABRIC™ is a household product designed for household use. Meanwhile, State Fabric and Textile Refresher® is industrial-strength and is intended for industrial and institutional use.
For a facility, you could technically use either option. Owning a business doesn’t mean you need industrial-strength products, especially for less severe odor problems. But industrial products are able to perform differently because they are sold commercially rather than over the counter. If you value using an industrial-strength fabric refresher for your problem, State Fabric and Textile Refresher® has that capability.
Meanwhile, if you’re looking for a fabric refresher for household use, Febreze FABRIC™ is a great option while State Fabric and Textile Refresher® cannot be sold for household use.
Febreze FABRIC™ and State Fabric and Textile Refresher® Fragrance Options
With these two fabric refreshers, you’re looking at a range of fragrance options.
Both State Fabric and Textile Refresher® and Febreze FABRIC™ offer unscented options. On their website, Febreze states, “With 0% perfumes, Fabric Refresher Free is gentle enough to use on fabrics for those with sensitivities to scent and odors.” Similarly, State Fabric and Textile Refresher® has an unscented option that is not expected to trigger fragrance sensitivities.
When you have facility users with fragrance allergies and sensitivities, these are good avenues to deodorize your space without causing irritation to staff or customers. Additionally, if you run a facility with animals, these are options to try to protect pets’ common sensitivities too.
If you prefer a fabric refresher with a fragrance, your options are more varied.
State Fabric and Textile Refresher® only offers one scented option: Clean. As the name suggests, this scent leaves a lasting impression of freshness and cleanliness.
For Febreze FABRIC™, you have significantly more fragrance options: Romance & Desire, Refresh & Energize, Apple Mango Sunshine, Downy Calm, Gain Moonlight Breeze, Cranberry Crumble, Berry & Bramble, Gain Original Scent, Downy April Fresh, Gain Honey Berry Hula, and Southern Lilac Mornings. The heavy-duty and other versions of Febreze FABRIC™ offer further scent options.
Where to Use Febreze FABRIC™ and State Fabric and Textile Refresher®
If you have fabric, textiles, or other upholstery in your facility, both fabric refreshers can effectively treat these areas. Essentially, if you have fabric odors, these products are right for you. However, you will need to be careful about certain types of fabric.
Febreze advises against using Febreze FABRIC™ “on fabrics that water spot, including silk, suede, and leather.” Similarly, State Chemical recommends against using State Fabric and Textile Refresher® on fabric that is sensitive to or affected by water. Test either product on a small spot before applying it to the whole.
