Fragrance & Odor Solutions: Industries State Chemical Can Help
Delving into air care for your business is great, but what markets can State Chemical really serve? Do you need a fragrance diffuser, or will a handheld product suffice? What will best eliminate your odors? Is there a product strong enough? Will it be too strong?
At State Chemical, we manufacture and distribute scent solutions for a wide range of facilities. We hear these questions every day, and we get it—you want to make the right purchase and solve your odor problems as efficiently as possible.
To help you make the right purchase, we’re going to explain what air care services we offer, what markets we can serve, what specific issues we can solve, and how to determine what product you need. After reading, you’ll know which air care solution will solve your problem.
What Fragrance and Odor Services Does State Chemical Provide?
State Chemical offers several different services based on your individual problem.
If you want a facility-wide solution, we offer fragrance systems like the Fragrance Cube 2-6. If your problems are confined to a more specific area, we sell products for spot treatment, like Trade Winds.
We have services for institutional concerns (e.g., in a school) as well as for industrial odors (e.g., in a wastewater facility). Our products are effective for odor elimination as well as for fragrancing—and we also have low-fragrance and allergy-friendly options.
Whatever situation you’re dealing with, we likely have a product to help, but what does that look like in practice?
What Facilities Can State Chemical Serve via Air Care?
Depending on your facility, you’ll treat your odors in different ways. The following are just several examples of the locations we can treat:
Hotels, Apartments, and Office Buildings
In these types of facilities, you may be treating general building odors, trash room odors, smoke odors, or other odors. And you likely also want to add a pleasant fragrance to appeal to visitors.
For different odors, we offer many options.
You can use a scent diffuser to treat general building odors, eliminating musty, unpleasant smells from the air and replacing them with pleasant, appealing fragrances. This way, you can treat odors while also building a brand fragrance.
For odors more specific to an area, you can use an odor eliminator for spot treatment. This is a good way to get rid of odors at the source. When they’re specific to fabric, furniture, or upholstery, you can use our Fabric and Textile Refresher, which will be perfect for eliminating those odors—particularly smoke odors, which are easily absorbed by fabric.
Hospitals and Assisted Living Facilities
Hospitals and assisted living facilities will want odor control for the various smells that come along with medical care, but you probably won’t want very strong fragrances—if you want fragrances at all.
Imagine a hospital lobby as opposed to an operating room. In a lobby, you may be dealing with minor malodors, but your foremost concern is probably adding a subtle fragrance to the area so that it presents itself as clean. We can help with that by providing you with a fragrance system like the Fragrance Cube.
Meanwhile, if you’re considering odor treatment in the operating room, it’s unlikely that you want a fragrance at all. Fragrances can trigger asthma, skin irritation, eye irritation, and other negative reactions that aren’t so desirable for surgical patients. Instead, you want to eliminate the smell of blood and other bodily fluids. To do this most safely and effectively, we can provide you with an odor eliminator that is low-fragrance and contains no known allergens.
Schools
Schools are another market segment we can serve, and it’s likely that you could have various issues in this environment.
Maybe you want to treat musty mildew smells throughout the building. Maybe there is a noticeable scent of body odor and sweat in the locker rooms. Maybe you want to add a pleasant fragrance to the bathrooms.
In a school, there are many possible applications. For building-wide solutions, we recommend one or more fragrance systems. Our fragrance systems utilize the ingredient SE-500 to eliminate malodors from the air, so you’ll be able to eliminate malodors and add a fragrance of your choice, with options ranging from light to strong.
For specific areas like a locker room or a bathroom, you could utilize spot treatment (using a handheld odor eliminator) or a smaller fragrance system to eliminate malodors and add a fragrance. These options can help give you wiggle room in your budget, and considering the potential for vandalism, the ability to use a handheld odor eliminator rather than a wall-mounted system may be appealing to you.
Veterinary Offices, Animal Shelters, and Pet Parks
If you run a facility where animals are present, you probably have the odors associated with pets—but you’re also in a difficult situation because many animals are very sensitive to fragrances. However, we have solutions to help with this.
Firstly, we have subtle fragrances, such as Abscent. These low-level fragrances can be used with less potential to trigger sensitivities.
Similarly, we have fragrances with no known allergens, such as Citrus Green Tea, which are not expected to cause reactions. You can use these fragrances in your animal-friendly facility to lessen irritation to pets.
Trash Rooms, Food Processing Plants, Etc.
State Chemical also offers solutions for odor-heavy environments. In these situations, you’ll most likely want a fragrance system rather than a handheld option, as a system will provide continuous treatment for problem areas.
From there, the system will eliminate odors in the air using SE-500 while also using a heavy fragrance to cover up the smell.
Now, this doesn’t mean adding a powerful scent like fruit punch, which would smell downright nauseating when combined with the odor of rotting trash. If you’ve ever tried to spray down your trash can with an air freshener just to end up horrified by the Frankenstein malodor you’ve created, you know what we’re talking about.
Instead, SE-500 physically changes the chemical composition of malodors in the air so that your nose no longer recognizes them. Effectively, the odors will be gone, and then a scent like Pure Meadow will be added to cover up any remaining odors. This strong but clean fragrance won’t create an odor monstrosity when combined with even the worst of stenches.
What Facilities Can State Chemical Not Serve via Air Care?
With air care, virtually any application is possible, but there are certain situations where we are not the best fit for you.
For example, if you’re working on a low budget, State Chemical is not your best option since our prices are generally higher than most of the industry.
Additionally, if you run a small facility, like a boutique coffee shop, State Chemical can still offer you solutions, but it may be more cost-effective to choose a different company. For instance, you may only be looking for a case of handheld air fresheners to last you the year. It just doesn’t make a lot of sense to deal with the expense or the hassle of a site survey just for a product that you could buy for cheaper online or at a local store.
How Do I Know What Odor Solution I Need?
All of this said, you can determine what odor solution you need by thinking about your individual facility.
Do you want a facility-wide solution? Use a fragrance system.
Would you rather simply treat a specific area? Choose an odor eliminator for spot treatment.
Do you have facility users with fragrance sensitivities? Use an odor eliminator that is low-fragrance or that contains no known allergens.
Are you interested in building a brand fragrance? Pick a fragrance that matches your facility’s aesthetic.
Do you have severe odor issues? Invest in a scent diffuser with a strong fragrance and odor eliminator.
It can be difficult to know what to do when there are so many options, but we have a solution for virtually any odor problem. Contact us to have a State Chemical representative help you choose the best solution for your facility.
