Product Description

Scav-Ox™ stops, absorbs and removes oxygen, the prime cause of boiler corrosion and pitting. Use of Scav-Ox, combined with other State boiler products, protects the life and performance of boiler systems, reducing downtime and refit costs. Ideal for use in systems with less than 50% condensate return.

Directions for Use

Use State Scav-Ox™ to prevent oxygen pitting and corrosion. (This product is compatible with State Stop-Scale™, #301 NCNP™ or BT-64™). Add one pound of Scav-Ox for each 1000 gallons of water in the system. The Scav-Ox can be dissolved in several gallons of water to make addition of the oxygen scavenger to the system more convenient. Dissolve each pound of Scav-Ox in at least 1 gallon of hot water. Stir or agitate this mixture to help it dissolve. Maintain a proper blowdown schedule, and a residual of 30-60 ppm Scav-Ox in the boiler at all times for effective protection from oxygen pitting or corrosion. NOTE: It is important that you monitor the Scav-Ox levels in the boiler water on site. Purchase the State Scav-Ox Test Kit (stock #77857) to conduct this testing.
