Bobby Hull Community Ice Rink’s Journey with State Chemical
Located in Cicero, IL, Bobby Hull Community Ice Rink has always valued cleanliness in their facility. But when it came to solutions for some specific applications, it was difficult to find something consistent and reliable.
Director of Operations Jimmy Terracino elaborated, “Nowadays, it’s unfortunate: it’s very rare to find companies that are easy to work with and helpful... There’s a few companies I deal with that are great, and there’s also some that it’s just like, ‘Why is this so difficult? Like, I’m your customer; you should be trying to provide us with the best quality help.’”

When Terracino met his State Chemical representative, he was understandably skeptical at first, especially given his previous difficulties with other companies. But after verifying State Chemical’s reputation with others, he decided to start working with the company.
Now, the facility has received products that have consistently solved a variety of issues.
For example, they now use SPW: Quick Dri for their Zamboni. “I love this product,” Terracino said, explaining how he’ll use it anywhere he’d use WD-40, and it will stick on and last longer. Now, Terracino applies it every couple of days, emphasizing that since it’s dry, it doesn’t leak or feel dirty.
In addition, Bobby Hull Community Ice Rink has started to use Dispatch to remove graffiti and puck marks. Terracino said, “I’ve tried other graffiti removers, and this is probably one of the best products that we’ve used.” In the past, the facility had used over-the-counter products that didn’t always work as well, and they’d often have to scrape off the paint and repaint.
With Dispatch, the process has been significantly easier—even when the graffiti isn’t noticed immediately.
Additionally, the rink now uses State's Fragrance Cube 2-6 to keep their facility smelling fresh.
Terracino explained, “The restrooms smell good, our lobby smells good... People are like, ‘Wow, it smells good' or ‘It’s nice and clean’ because I’m big on trying to keep things clean.”

Further, the facility has a consistent means of getting products that they can rely on.
“If there’s ever a problem with the building or anything, it’s taken care of right away,” Terracino said. “I order the products, gets here right away—I wanna say it comes the next day if it’s in stock... and [State Chemical is] a really easy company to work with, and there’s so many products.”
As Bobby Hull Community Ice Rink keeps working with State Chemical, they keep trying and implementing new products into their facility.
Terracino said, “[State Chemical has] products that you can’t just buy at a [store]. Like, sometimes, you think, ‘I need a product for this’ and then you go to Menard’s or Home Depot or something, and then you can’t find it, and then [State Chemical has] the specialty products or certain products that, you know, could solve almost any problem you have.”
