Fragrance Cube 2-6: Problems and Solutions
What does ambient scenting look like in a smaller space? How does the State Fragrance Cube 2-6 work? Will it really work for your facility? How do you know what system will really be best for you?
At State Chemical, we manufacture and distribute chemical solutions to a variety of problems, including air care concerns, for which we offer the State Fragrance Cube 2-6. We’ve heard these questions before; we know that when it comes to your facility, your priority is making smart purchases.
To make your job easier, we’re going to explain what the Fragrance Cube 2-6 is, common problems with it, and how we can solve these problems. After reading, you’ll know whether the Fragrance Cube 2-6 is the right fit for your facility.
What is the State Fragrance Cube 2-6?
The State Fragrance Cube 2-6 is a container you can hang on your wall to dispense a fragrance throughout your space. Controlled by Bluetooth, the Fragrance Cube 2-6 allows you to program it to run up to 24 hours a day or as infrequently as desired. This way, fragrance strength and timing are customizable.
It uses cold-air diffusion rather than metered aerosols. This means you could hold your hand in front of the Fragrance Cube 2-6, and it would come away completely dry but still smelling nice. Without the diffusion of wet mist, there won’t be any sticky residue or inconsistent fragrance levels.
The Cube 2-6 is effective in spaces ranging from 2,000 to 6,000 cubic feet (not square feet). For spaces larger than this, you can use multiple Fragrance Cube 2-6s at once.
However, in some cases, it may be more efficient to explore larger systems, such as the State Fragrance Cube 6-15 (6,000–15,000 ft³), the standard State Fragrance Cube (10,000–150,000 ft³), or the State Fragrance Central (100,000–750,000 ft³).
These are the basics about how Cube 2-6 works, but what are some of the problems with this system, and what are their potential solutions?
Problem: The Fragrance Cube 2-6 Can Be Costly
As with any product, one of your first thoughts about the Cube 2-6 is probably how much it costs. Typically falling in the range of $20–$40 per month for a single system, the Cube 2-6 costs more than most alternative fragrance options from other companies.
For example, at the time of this writing, you could buy a four-pack of Febreze AIR™ for $10.99, an option that would last you at least one to two months. Compared to the Cube 2-6, options like this are more affordable.
Solution: The Price of the Fragrance Cube 2-6 is Flexible and Includes Service
A main benefit of the Cube 2-6 is the fact that how you use it is flexible. For the standard program, you’ll need fragrance refills every 30 days. However, many customers choose to be on the light program, which uses less product and only requires refills every 60 days.
Additionally, installation, service, fragrance refills, and battery replacement are included in the price of your Cube 2-6 program agreement. While you’re paying for the product, you’re also paying for the convenience of not having to manage its upkeep, which is something to consider when deciding on a system.
Problem: What If I Don’t Like the Scent?
Another common issue with fragrance systems is simple: the fragrance.
Maybe you like the samples you smelled, but once they’re actually installed, you find them overwhelming. Maybe your employees are sensitive to strong fragrances, and you realize after purchasing that the fragrance you selected gives half the staff a headache.
You’re on a yearlong agreement, so what are you supposed to do then?
Solution: The Fragrance Cube 2-6 is Highly Customizable
The good news is that the Cube 2-6 is highly customizable. If you dislike your chosen fragrance, you can swap it for a different, lighter scent. If it’s too strong, you can program the system to use less product by running less frequently.
Additionally, the Cube 2-6 is as consistent as you’d like it to be. When it’s running, the fragrance strength will remain consistent until it needs a refill. Because of the cold-air diffusion, it will also linger in a space longer than a wet mist would. If you don’t like it, your sales representative can work with you to find the best schedule and scent for you.
However, if you still don’t find that the Cube 2-6 is working for you, you can cancel your agreement and only pay 15% of what you were supposed to pay for the rest of the year.
Problem: The Fragrance Cube 2-6 is Too Weak in Large Spaces
Because the Cube 2-6 is limited to 2,000–6,000 cubic feet, you may find that it isn’t strong enough for your space. Even if your space is at the high end of that metric, you may prefer a stronger fragrance than the 2-6 can offer, especially in areas with significant odor problems.
Solution: Use Another State Chemical Fragrance System
In this situation, it’s best to explore other State Chemical fragrance systems, such as the Fragrance Cube 6-15, the standard Fragrance Cube, or the Fragrance Central. These systems are capable of scenting rooms with higher cubic footage.
You also have the option to use multiple 2-6s in one space. For example, if you have a 75-foot-long hallway, maybe you’d prefer to use two 2-6s to evenly distribute the fragrance rather than investing in a Cube 6-15. With the customizability of fragrance systems, much of the decision comes down to personal preference.
Problem: The Fragrance Cube 2-6 is Too Strong in Very Small Places
On the other end of the spectrum, maybe you’re interested in adding a fragrance to a small space and are worried the Cube 2-6 may be too strong.
For example, let’s say you want to fragrance an elevator that’s 500 cubic feet. The Cube 2-6 will be too strong in this environment and will be more likely to cause headaches, watery eyes, nausea, and other reactions.
Solution: Use State Chemical’s Fragrance Factory
To fragrance a space like an elevator, you should instead consider a system like Fragrance Factory. With scenting intended for smaller spaces, Fragrance Factory will provide a pleasant aroma and treat malodors without overwhelming the senses.
